Treason or the Worst Political Scandal Ever?

Prediction and Commentary by: Editor@thePoliticalProphet.com

Release of the memo regarding the FISA Court, the FBI and related matters is just another step in the new transparency Pres. Trump is bringing to Washington. Even more will come out soon. “Deep State” corruption and potential crimes, including treason, will be reveled.

When all of the culprits from the Obama and Clinton political organizations who broke the law to stop the Trump campaign and then the Trump Presidency are identified, charging decisions must be made by the U.S. Attorneys who prosecute the cases. The political operatives who were or are still paid as government officials or employees, including those at the White House, National Security Agencies, the DOJ and the FBI who are convicted must lose all federal benefits automatically because of their breach of the public trust. To prove that no one in America is above the law, former President Obama and both Clintons must be fully exposed to whatever prosecution the law requires for any crimes they personally committed.

Paradoxically, to discourage the increasingly destructive tendency to criminalize political opposition, if the behavior in any of these cases justifies it, treason should be the charge. Hopefully, raising the stakes to the ultimate level will help us return to normalcy in our political debates. It wouldn’t take but one execution to get political hacks to re-think their activities.

While some in the news media have obviously been complicit in the “Deep State” corruption, great care must be taken to protect our 1st Amendment and Freedom of the Press guarantees. Criminal charges against journalists should not be levied casually. Clearly, those in the media are not above the law but we all lose if the law is used politically to punish or deter anyone.

The New York Times

Article titled: “Treason Against the United States”

Final paragraph of the article state states in full…

“Treason has ever been deemed the highest crime which can be committed in civil society; since its aim is an overthrow of the Government and a public resistance by force of its just powers, its tendency is to create universal danger and alarm, and on this account it has often been visited with the deepest public resentment. Hence, by the common law, the the punishment of high treason was accompanied by all the refinements in cruelty which were oftentimes literally and studiously executed. But under the Constitution of the United States the power of punishing the crime of treason against the United States is exclusive in Congress; and the trial of the offence belongs exclusively to the Federal tribunals. A State cannot take cognizance or punish the offence, whatever it may do in relation to the offence of treason committed exclusively against itself.”
